As the new academic year has just started, YONECO is geared up to ensure that young people are able to enjoy their right to education by ensuring that they have adequate age-appropriate information about their Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).
On September 22, 2023, YONECO officers conducted an SRHR awareness session at Kingdom Builders Academy targeting students who are in forms 1 to 4.
The session focused on issues pertaining to the prevention and dangers of adolescent pregnancies and Sexually Transmitted Infections (STI). Further to this, the session also focused on prevention of Gender-based Violence (GBV) both at school and community levels.
The participants were encouraged to report GBV and seek SRHR services as one way of safeguarding their future.
About 200 female and male students from the school attended the session.
